Come on, dude. That's why I asked a clarifying question.

    Good observation.

I went to UL from 89-93. On any weekend, there were several thousand students at The Strip, and most of them weren't Greeks. It did build community as I made many friends there and would recognize and talk to many students on campus that I otherwise would not have.

My personal observation. I was at USL in the mid-late 70’s. Probably half of my friends/acquaintances who went to USL are LSU fans first and foremost, some never mention UL. I suspect it’s worse now. Sadly our leadership over the past 30-40 years has done NOTHING to fix this!

Yea I’m talking about graduates. The majority of those students, whether you admit it or not are Tiger first fans. They come here for school only and go to LSU on Saturdays. That’s the cold hard truth.

Take a trip on a Saturday to BR and see how many 20-40 years olds from Lafayette are there. Way more than stay here I can tell you that.

Both are currently at UL's disposal, neither is being utilized.

It's just a difference of opinion on something that would take a lot of work and polling to confirm if it even could.

I do know one person I work with that went to UL and only supports TSAB. Aside from that, the people I know, went to school with and work with that graduated from UL fall into one of three categories. They are UL fans only, support both or another school, or are just not concerned with sports altogether. I also know some TSAB graduates that do not have sports on their radar at all. But that's just one person's circle and perception.

Regardless, we agree that our university needs to do a better job influencing and cultivating its own graduates. You've got 4 years to indoctrinate, and it should be easy to get a large percentage of graduates to get in the boat. Heck, when I started at UL, I was not a college sports fan at all. I left a diehard, so it worked on me.

Of only there was a way for grads to retain ownership of their university experience email...

It would go a long way in their staying connected.

Every Saturday home game for 4 years we had pre game at our fraternity house with roughly 60 guys. That changed every year due to graduation. Always some going out and some coming in. I would say about 80% of those guys when I talk to them today they call LSU us and UL y’all since they know I am a big cajuns.

I can say that same thing for some of my high school class mates as well one has an undergrad and masters from here.

That is more of the normal not the exception for the vast majority of people I know close to me or just casually.

Even if 100% of UL grads went that route, it is not normal.

Correct. I doubt that happens any where else in the country where alumni call their own school y’all and and a school they never went to we, while in conversation with someone they went to school with for four years. It’s sickening.
