Boutique Row - Hear me out
Get all of the boutique clothiers in town to get a booth (sell booth space) to line up in the westside parking lot. Sell tickets to that ONE part of the field (something cheap like $5, give half to charity. Gets the charities involved). Have them compete on who can produce the nicest outfit with best accessories (or have a category for each) and have people vote on that. If the women are at the games, the men and kids are at the games. NFL figured this out a long time ago.
Raffle off prizes for free boutique items. Get the charities to benefit. Get the media to cover it. Have a make-shift bar inside a tent for relaxing. Would be an absolute hit.
MAT, I love 99.9% of your ideas.but c'mon baw, the bougie Lafayette crew aren't coming walk around in a dusty parking lot around the cretins.
Superior Grill should come set up a giant tent and sell their margs though. That'd be a win/win.
1. Family Four Pack - $50
2. Uber Event transportation - $5 credit for any uber that has Cajun Field as the destination
3. Would love to see a push from Adopted Dog, Legends, Corner Bar, etc. But instead of "come watch the Cajuns here!", try for "come pre-game here with XYZ drink special and $3 food something". If for nothing else than to hammer home that UL's tailgating sucks
Bear wraslin at halftime
it's a boring, loud, expensive experience? this is the same if not more so across the country, the boring part is a personal emotion and varies from person to person. so how do marshall, USM, App st. JMU, Troy, from just the Sun Belt along with other peers do it? are they cheaper ? quieter? its always a list of excuses given, it even changes every few weeks or year to year, but the result is the same.hear me out, maybe everyone is looking at it all wrong. just a thought excessive to see what new ideas spring up, cause the old ones havent worked.
Love the ideas.
"Beat Minnesota Saturday" is tops.
Exactly, and the old issues and old ideas don't work and haven't been fixed, if anything they've gotten worse. Nothing will change (dramatically) with UL attendence until they somehow fix the in-game experience. What they're doing now and have been doing has proven not to work. Just ask the 20,000 who show up every home game dressed as seats
It really isn't though
As others have said, beating Minnesota on the road is not going to suddenly have casuals saying: "dang they beat Minnesota!? Who they play this week!? Oh Texas State sweet lemme drop $100 on tickets for my family wonder if I know anyone who still has a tailgate spot"
Now if they beat Minnesota they'll be on the news and in people's conversations, and THATS when you drop the "yeah and they're offering cheap tickets this weekend and a concert at CF before the game"
