OT but local: Lafayette MMA fighter fighting for a UFC contract on ESPN+ tonight

Local MMA fighter Carli Judice was called 10 days ago and asked to compete on Dana White’s Contender Series tonight. She made weight last night (which could be a difficult feat on 10 days notice). She will be the second fight for the card that starts at 7:00pm on ESPN plus.

Very nice girl out of Headkicks, which is owned by a UL alum, Aaron Phillips. I’ve seen Carli fight a few times and it usually ends with some fireworks.

Aaron and I used to attend the same church, Family Life in Scott. Very good young man.
