New Indoor Sports Facility for Lafayette.

Plans are in the works for a new state-of-the-art indoor sports facility in Lafayette.

The announcement is the culmination of months of discussions with hotel and motel owners interested in supporting tourism efforts and economic growth, according to Lafayette Consolidated Government. This was followed by an independent study commissioned by the Lafayette Convention & Visitors Commission with the Huddle Up Group.

From the Advocate "It won’t require the purchase of additional land, Guillory said, because there’s plenty of space in and around Comeaux Recreation Center and Beaullieu Park. It may require moving some of the existing facilities, including baseball fields, and could require renovation to or demolition of the existing recreation center, he said."

Hope the roadway gets upgraded before it’s built. Lots of traffic for Comeaux HS, Lourdes main campus and shortcut to Costco for lots of subdivisions. Plus Top Golf is nearby and this same road will be along Costco route. Love the project but please infrastructure first. Just like we did the New Orleans airport.
