UL Football Ragin Cajuns @ Minnesota - Chew on Data

Guys. Sorry couldn’t wait for a thread to commence.

Minnesota is 2-2 with the following schedule:

    W vs Nebraska 13-10
    W vs E. Michigan 25-6
    L @ #20 UNC 31-13
    L @ Northwestern 37-34 OT

Taylor is the work horse with 532 yards on the ground and owns about 30% of their total points. They have committed fewer turnovers than the Cajuns but they don’t score a ton of points (85 over 4 games).

The defense gives up about 250 yards in the air and 115 on the ground per game

Their star freshmen RB Darius Taylor got injured last night. Any news on this?

Taylor got hurt and did not return vs NW in the 4th quarter. No update on his status, but PJ Fleck has a presser today I believe and I will try to see what I can find out.

Their QB is third on the team with 75 yds/1 td. That accounts for 10% of their ground yardage. Doesn’t look as though he’s a threat to run, but with Taylor in limbo. Who knows.

They only gave up 4 picks so far, but don’t throw it as much as running. 5 sacks on the season versus 7 for Cajuns

Don't be dejected, Dave. I still look forward to your breakdown. I'm just kicking over the antpile. You have the magnifying glass.

Minnesota might have running back problems, here is what we know:

Darius Taylor -- the starter was pulled from the game with a leg injury, not sure the issue or if he will be available but did not play after he came out in the 4th quarter and/or overtime.

Sean Tyler -- the #2 back has issues with fumbling in the past and while has put up decent numbers has not been great, not nearly the back Taylor has been.

Bryce Williams -- the leading returning running back from 2022 has only had 11 carries for 30 yards this season. Last season he was 51 for 249 yards. He could see extended playing time if Taylor is out.

Zach Evans -- who was projected by some to be the starter has not played at all and many think he is in the coach's doghouse and may possibly be looking to portal out.
