This is exactly why there needs to be a tailgate area inside the fence that is free, first-come, first-serve, wild west style tailgating that allows the students and casuals to organize their own parties and get-togethers. If you want to get excitement and atmosphere back to Cajun Field this is where you start. Take away the ability of the university to control these student groups. We never needed to have an official "student tailgate" ____ that ____.

We sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding surrounding the UL Greek community and the Student Tailgate. It is the University's desire that the Greeks and students be engaged in every facet of our community. Especially tailgating and athletics. To that end, key University administrative personal have met and agreed that the student tailgate for the upcoming football game be moved to "Tinsel and Treasures" at the Cajun Dome Convention center.

Just for the record, this is not a rule they arbitrarily came up. It is in the university policy so I guess they are just enforcing it. You may or may not agree with this, but it was probably implemented because every year there are tragic deaths of college students somewhere in the country that fraternities and drinking. These inevitably result in lawsuits against the university and the fraternity. Usually, these deaths involve Hell Week initiations (and forcing pledges to drink) though. Below is the link to the university policy that defines Greek parties. Please don't shoot the messenger I did not make the policy. I was just curious and decided to look it up on the University website. Below is the link.
