I’ll be at all the Home Games, soaking it all in. Can’t wait to pre game it at the new VIP Section for Courtside Seats. Pre Game VIP section opens 1 hour before the game, providing a free meal and drink. #BradBoydBasketball #GeauxCajuns

We open with 2 conference champions in Youngstown State and Toledo. Eastern Kentucky reached the finals of the CBI last season and won 23 games. Samford was runnerup in their league last season. If we beat Wright State in the Florida tournament, our second game will likely be against Hofstra which also had a strong season in 2022-23. We will have another D1 home game on February 11 against a MAC team which will be determined in mid to late January. Road games against Tech and McNeese are always challenging. Rice has most of their team returning from a squad that had a winning record last season. What this schedule does not have is a money game against a name school. Despite that, I think this schedule is more challenging than those we played in recent years. I say that due to the fact several of the mid majors we will face had strong results last season. Craig and I will do a deep dive into the non conference schedule in an upcoming episode of the We’re Talkin podcast soon. Likely within next 2 weeks. If you listen to that you will likely realize the schedule is probably tougher than it appears at first glance. Craig does have football as priority on his podcasts now. He also has spotting duties on the football radio broadcasts. Thankfully his health this year is allowing him to perform all these duties in support of our program. That was not always the case last year.
. . . whiskey and bourbon always seem to cure all . . .
We are paying Youngstown State and EKU to come here. Youngstown was a conference champion last year. EKU won 23 games and has most of their team returning. I think that shows we are making an effort to bring better competition to the Dome. My only disappointment is we have 2 non D1 games. That could be due to previous contracts. I thought SBC rule was 13 D1 home games and we have 12. It could be you need to average 13 over a period. The following season we may have 14 as we should get a couple of teams coming here as part of home and home deals.
. . . it’s always fun to sneak something by . . .
