Can say I am disappointed in the schedule, so our best road game is vs Rice, and our best home opponent is EKU or Toledo? 2 non-D-1 opponents, UT Tyler does not count it is an exhibition game. Home vs. Youngstown State, Louisiana Christian, Loyola and EKU as well as another MAC/SBC crossover game. Road games vs Toledo, Samford, La Tech and McNeese and neutral site game vs Wright State (for sure) and Hofstra or Buffalo and also against Iona/High Point/LBSU or Illinois State.
We travel to Toledo.
That schedule is trash
Here is the 2022 year-end breakdown of RPI.
136 Youngstown State
70 Toledo
N/A LCU
236 Wright State
N/A Loyola
146 Samford
165 La Tech
87 EKU
321 McNeese
147 Rice
Others
61 Hofstra
182 Buffalo
174 LBSU
48 Iona
294 High Point
302 Illinois State
I can’t wait to not buy season tickets again. This schedule is pathetic. Should we win a lot? Sure, will we? Who knows with the roster turnover we have.
This schedule is much better. Cudos
Just looking over a few SBC teams who have posted schedules...the OOC games they play are just as bad....home and away. Ark State plays 4 or 5 P5 games, Wisconsin, Louisville, etc for a cool $445000 payday, all on the road...
Think Bobby Big Fish can finish over 500 with this?
At this point, it’s obvious that we aren’t even trying to get good teams to come here.
My goodness, if UL could market our opposition in sports as well as they market “Lafayette”, this wouldn’t look so bad. At least someone got El Aye Tech right…

This is probably one of the better OOC schedules since Marlin got here. Only 4 teams on the entire list with NET worse than 200. If we get Hofstra instead of Buffalo and Iona instead of High Point, that drops to 3 opponents over 200 NET, and gives us 4 under 100 and 3 more between 101 and 150. This is a much better schedule than one would think by just reading the names.
