The old saying bad press is better than no press is a misnomer. Getting mentioned in these polls isn’t great. Becoming a permanent fixture for extended periods of time is crippling. National perception happens. The joke becomes reality if a program allows it. The MAC can only supply so much to this; serious or not, don’t become a free target.

UL fans seem to be caught somewhere between obsessively living in the past (when UL was regularly in the bottom 10) and obsessively wanting a radically different future (where UL has a football culture like LSU). Very few people want to live in the present.
