What are you even trying to say? There were people here who were willing to pony up enough money to get Napier to $3M. I’m pretty sure several people including JMV were told that from reliable info.

Your post comes off as just being a contrarian and not based in anything of substance. Again, it’s a moot point talking about Napier, he’s gone. If given enough time he will win at Florida. I doubt he gets that time.

Des is growing as a HC at this level, it sucks we have to watch his growing pains. But the guy does it the right way, says the right things, he will also never be good enough for his detractors. If he doesn’t get it together he will just get one contract here.

This thread and every subsequent thread regarding Des is useless. He’s the HMFIC and will be for the length of his contract. We just need to support the program as he grows.

We will not just go grab 3-4 star prospects in the portal that this staff hadn’t previously evaluated. I’ll take 20 Patrick Mensah’s who bust their behinds and become a solid player and huge locker room guy. Over someone who isn’t a fit in the locker room.

The portal is fools gold. Especially when you rely on it to build a roster. Or I guess we forget, WE DO NOT HAVE THE FUNDS for NIL deals to keep our best players or attract great talent from the portal.

Go click on the link I gave in the Portal Thread. EVERY school in America has brought in 15-25 players through the Portal this year. They are doing the work. They are doing the evaluations.

You are correct. Let me rephrase. There are quality players that have entered the Portal that we can afford and can help us. Other schools are finding them. We should too.
