. . . looking at Mr Moody’s accomplishments and where his name is prominently displayed at Louisiana, I have a feeling that there is a higher probability that Mr, Moody was more that likely working towards a vision to bring us to R1 status than going to a bowl game even in 1944 . . . just sayin . . .
Des wasn’t recruited to the Red School. It really was the Wild West thought back then. My dad was approached by Red School people to recruit my brother. I was actually being recruited by NISH in middle school. Obviously we stayed with the good people. The biggest recruiters right now are at Westgate. Won’t say his name but he runs an AAU team and helps with a pee wee football organization.
You grew up in God’s country! Nothing like living on the Teche. My parents built on the bayou after we all graduated. I won’t be in the bayou but we’re about to close on a property near the park that’s a pecan grove. My family’s been on the Teche since 1789 and less than a handful have left the area.
Consider what Hud did with our fan base while here. 50,000 plus for our first bowl game. He got students, Lafayette and Acadiana excited about UL football. Not likely to happen, but would love to see him move back here and head up RCAF. With the new stadium going up next year and his marketing, things could explode over here.
