I was one of the biggest critics of the Des hire. Still think it was the wrong move. But he's our coach. Period. He HAS to have time to at least prove himself. It is WAY too early to talk about firing him.
Not disagreeing, just discussing ...
Our schedule next season has several recognizable names, plus I believe we can expect some APP/Coastal/Marshall additions as well, right?
If he wins 5 games this year with this putrid schedule, do you allow him to continue next year without even thinking about a change? Go limping into 2025 -- the year our new stadium is supposed to save the program -- with the same coach who has produced mediocre results for the last 3 years?
And to clarify, I'm not saying this WILL happen, I'm just wondering what the leash is from some of the least Fairweather fans
…..lHere are some of my reasons that Des was hired and this is why he is a very good hire for UL……T-Joe knows the value and has a personal love of intrinsic motivation……he eluded to his experience as top guy and the motivational part of leadership when announcing the hiring of Coach Dez…..Administrators who had met CMD had been very impressed with his intelligence…..anyone of past Cajun teams have been impressed with his fierce competitiveness as a player and coach……he has shown a special knack as a recruiter in getting some great ones to sign with us through the years…..the guy who knew him the best suggested his hiring, that being coach Nap…..yes he has some proving to do, but I think he will come through…..Geaux Cajuns!
No offense but if I'm Billy Napier and I'm trying to convince some all-pro linemen and running backs to transfer from UL to Florida, the last thing I would do is recommend the school hire some personality who might convince those players to stay....
