Tell me what one of these does not have to do with the others:
Philadelphia
Memphis
New Orleans
Birmingham
Dallas
Tulsa
Suburb of Miami
Charlotte
Suburb of Dallas
Greenville, NC (only about an hour from Raleigh)
Suburb of Washington DC
Houston
Tampa/St Pete
San Antonio
Boone, NC
The closest you could compare is Boone and Greenville are related in some way, but again, Greenville is only about an hour (give or take) from the Raleigh/Durham Metro area. I think if anything/anybody would fit into the AAC dynamic that we would have to be concerned with it could be the following in the SBC.
ODU or Georgia State, maybe a stretch would be Texas State (but they already have the San Antonio market with UTSA).
. . . its is all really silly and especially silly to even delve into as an ordinary fan . . .
If the Sun Belt was really the slam dunk place to be, we wouldn’t be worried about teams leaving, right?
Going by the current realignment trends, App should fit in perfectly with the geography of the Pac 12 and help keep it afloat.
agreed, we should always be looking to better our situation, currently we are in the best situation that we have been in, in years, but I would assume a team like Oregon State probably thought they were OK 3 years go and then USC and UCLA left and the next thing you know, the entire conference blows up.
La Tech, knew that they were in the best situation 5 years ago, then "KABOOM", now they are in a conference with NMSU, Sam Houston State, Jacksonville State and soon to be Kennesaw State amongst others. Nothing wrong with those teams, but reality is La Tech went from what they thought was a huge improvement to the cellar in just a year or two.
