The Championship Bell is what makes AC/DC's Hell's Bells the (OUR) design. Just as unique as our area of the Nation, we also have an incredible Bell, cast in France, located precisely above the very structure we enter the Swamp. This Bell can be timed just like a valve. With precise timing, the Hell's Bells intro of the song will be physically rung in Cajun Field with the audio track only being a redundancy. When the first guitar string hits, we're off and running. We can choose to ring again inside the song or bring the to rest.
Some will want the song changed in 5, 10, or how many years because it is old or stale. We don't do tradition here.
And it still gets back to getting the students and fans engaged in the entry, in the total game and in the atmosphere that makes them want to be there and an active participant. That is what is missing at UL football and basketball games. We have it at baseball and softball games. Build the atmosphere and they will come.
I just listened to CCR's version and this is in line with what I am thinking. It has a good start and at about the 1:15 mark is when they hit "born on the bayou" where the team could exit the tunnel.
I also lisetned to Hell's Bells which I like and its tempo is good, but it's not us.
With the right song we are creating tradition. With the wrong song we are back in the Sweet Caroline discussion.
. . . sorry but Respect never gets old . . .
