As I expected Jiya Wright would not complete the season as ULM’s starting QB either because of injury or inefficiency. Well I was right but earlier than even I expected. Hunter Herring is now the starter in Monroe. Interesting he would have probably been 4th or 5th string here.

Jiya Wright can’t throw his way out of a paper bag so this move makes sense. To be honest I was shocked he was named the week 1 starter.

And in other former Louisisana quarterbacks news, I happened to see a few minutes of Jackson State on the + this weekend; Zy Mcdonald is their starter. He looked ok but they got beat handily.

Actually I watched most of the game. Zy did not start game 1 or the first half of game 2. He came in to replace their ineffective qb and actually drove them for their only TD. Probably will be there starter going forward.

Regardless it is good when former UL backup qb’s end up starting at any level. Unless of course they were going to start here. Neither zy nor Hunter were ever really going to threaten any of our top 4 qbs.

They were dead in the water until he came in. He could be a poor practice player and a gamer.
