3 SBC schools are changing QB’s this weekend. Hunter Herring for Jiya Wright at ULM due to inefficiency. Joey Aguliur for Ryan Burger at App state due to injury and Jordan MCCloud for Alonza Barnett at JMU.

Good move for Hunter. I'll be interested in how he performs.

I spoke to a friend of mine who is a huge App State supporter, and they think that the new QB, Aguilar could be better than Burger, specifically right now. Burger is a true freshman that they like allot, and think is the future of the program, but Aguilar is a JUCO kid with tons more experience and more ready now to play vs Burger. Both are very similar in build and style of play, coach at App went for the younger, bigger upside kid, vs the more experienced veteran player.

Jiya Wright never impressed me, he is truly a RB playing QB and not the elusive style running back, more of a power guy. Very limited passing ability, I think ultimately Herring is the better option for them. I think Hunter will have his growing pains, but ultimately this is a much better move for them.

Finally, I am unaware of the situation at JMU, although they had quite a battle in camp to replace their starting QB from last season. Barnett struggled early vs Bucknell, and they made the change, my assumption is just based on play in that game the coach made the switch. Could be a who plays better when the lights are on situation vs practice.
