Gents, in the decade+ that I've been on RP (and I've enjoyed the info that has been made available), I've seen alot of criticism of Athletics (including my own), but an abundance of back-and-forth between RP members. I want to be clear, I have NO ISSUE with any of you, and I don't plan on changing that - unless someone gives me a reason. Why bring this up? There's nothing wrong with healthy disagreement but to the point of fracturing the fanbase and pulling down the program as a whole - it's going in the wrong direction. I just think it's crazy that some folks preach nothing but adoration for this university on an anonymous fan board but distance themselves from the university publicly. Couldn't be me. I'm a proud alumnus and lifelong fan!

Nah, the "studied at LSU" crowd is pretty obvious on here when you figure it out. Just have to learn to tune them out.

The pride for the University and Athletics doesn't start with the sport itself. It starts with us, the fans/alumni. Any university can be named a tiger, a rebel, bulldog, or another name that honors an animal. Only one university is named honoring a people...

James, I've grown tired of the "USL'ing" it comments as it pertains to sports and academics. We aren't the same university that we were when I attended (1997 - 2001). We've made achievements in all facets (some greater than others), and I am proud of those accomplishments, in spite of the crap that we've been buried under for decades - either by our own administrations, or those from the Capital. (The Capital....sounds like a monologue from the Hunger Games).

While I am some times critical of both academics and sports, I've always held to the belief - sports doesn't make you a great school. Academics doesn't make your sports winners. I'm also not about making ourselves better than xxxxx.....I'd rather see us make ourselves a BETTER version of UL than were currently are.

. . . this board surely does not have a shortage of posters consistently wanting to put Louisiana down as opposed to ever praising our accomplishments as a university . . . and lord my god don’t show up here with praise because all you will get is constant harassment

I'm trying for a united front - a united fanbase - a united CAJUN Nation. If we want others that don't usually frequent the fais-do-do, to come and be a part, we need to unite.
