James, I've grown tired of the "USL'ing" it comments as it pertains to sports and academics. We aren't the same university that we were when I attended (1997 - 2001). We've made achievements in all facets (some greater than others), and I am proud of those accomplishments, in spite of the crap that we've been buried under for decades - either by our own administrations, or those from the Capital. (The Capital....sounds like a monologue from the Hunger Games).

I'm trying for a united front - a united fanbase - a united CAJUN Nation. If we want others that don't usually frequent the fais-do-do, to come and be a part, we need to unite.

Forum is here for disagreement. You just believe that the bird is always right when that just is not the case. Its ok for people to disagree with whatever the coach is saying.

Never stop looking for ways to improve.

Suggestions should be considered.

Here is one suggestion.

The university commercial for academics is pathetic. It shows someone in ballet striving for an education that she can get at UL Lafayette. This is the 2nd year this has been running.

Why not change that to reflect that UL is now R1 and a Top 100 research university, show video of the beautiful campus, athletic facilities and highlight why a student should attend UL? This current commercial gives no information about the university and can't possibly entice anyone to attend.

I wrote to Dr. S back in May and suggested that if we can use LOUISIANA athletically, we should be able to use LOUISIANA academically. I gave him suggested logos to use. We can show the University of Louisiana at Lafayette once, then refer to the university as LOUISIANA. He said he would present it to Communications & Marketing to discuss. No word since then.

This commercial should be effective marketing for UL locally, statewide and nationally and the platform is completely wasted, IMO.

C80, I do agree. Criticism and debate is warranted here. But it seems that it's to the point of a divided fanbase.

You sure use the term "this board" a lot and always in a derogatory manner. Why are you so obsessed with what an overall fanbase thinks?

Because everyone is ridiculed for not falling in line. I think people are just passionate and have expectations. People like Vic just get hurt when others don't go along with him.
