7? How many fall semesters did he have?

We've already seen him play better last season before going down with an injury.

If Ben struggles badly going forward, I wouldn't be surprised if Fields is first off the bench in a game because of his experience. But, if there is a change this season because of injury or performance, then in my opinion we will see Chriss as the starter.

There is no QB controversy on this team.
IMO, weneed a quarterback who can and will run to keep the defense honest. If he is a pocket passer only, the defense will load up on him. Even Northwestern State was getting to him throughout the game. Woolridge did have some good runs, but that needs to be part of the offense to be effective and not just a run for your life scenario.

Second, he didn't participate in summer workouts either. When you consider the amount of throwing to receivers in repetitions he's missed, that is quite a large number of reps he has missed.

Thirdly, he wasn't supposed to have been cleared to begin practice until September and he began practice once cleared medically a month ahead of schedule. Also wearing a yellow jersey early in fall practice is nothing like playing in a real game once the whistle is blown.

Considering all the above facts, and the play of the OL, TE's and RB's lack of blocking in the game, he was indeed off platform at times. But he did throw 3 really nice deep balls for scores. Do I think he will develop much more as a 5-year senior, no. Do I think he will improve his throws and mechanics, yes assuming his teammates do a better job of blocking and catching the football.

As for your assessment of Zeon and Fields, I do believe that Zeon will eventually play some snaps this season, either because of injury or out of necessity.

As for Fields, love the guy but things weren't better with him last year. While he had some success in the bowl game, they moved him in the pocket the majority of the time because he can't see over the line. And he is not as good of runner as Woolridge and Chriss, we can put that to rest now.
    Very good perspective
I just feel Chandler never got the real chance but all good

I agree with that. Ben started to shine last year when chandler got hurt and he knew he wasn’t there breathing down his neck. Chandler never got that opportunity. Heck chandler started a game with back to back touchdown drives and got pulled. The game spiraled downward from that point.

Having said that I have no problem with Ben. He is definitely the vocal leader on the team. Who ever gives us the best chance to win roll with him.

Tebow & Hill are bad comparisons. Tebow threw for over 9,000yds at Florida. Hill almost 7,000yds at BYU. They were also dynamic runners. If BW was close to the talents of these two we would probably looking at a NY6 game.

This is a comparison of mechanics and and a rebut of the assertion that he's similar to them as an athlete and not a real qb.
As for the idea that we'd be in NY6 with a qb like them, I doubt it. They're average passers at best and Desormeaux was similar but we could barely win six games with him in the Sunbelt playing with the conference's all-time leading rusher.
