IMO, weneed a quarterback who can and will run to keep the defense honest. If he is a pocket passer only, the defense will load up on him. Even Northwestern State was getting to him throughout the game. Woolridge did have some good runs, but that needs to be part of the offense to be effective and not just a run for your life scenario.
I agree with that. Ben started to shine last year when chandler got hurt and he knew he wasn’t there breathing down his neck. Chandler never got that opportunity. Heck chandler started a game with back to back touchdown drives and got pulled. The game spiraled downward from that point.
Having said that I have no problem with Ben. He is definitely the vocal leader on the team. Who ever gives us the best chance to win roll with him.
This is a comparison of mechanics and and a rebut of the assertion that he's similar to them as an athlete and not a real qb.
As for the idea that we'd be in NY6 with a qb like them, I doubt it. They're average passers at best and Desormeaux was similar but we could barely win six games with him in the Sunbelt playing with the conference's all-time leading rusher.
