Who says it's not being discussed? Like I said, no mascot is better than a bad choice.
And, please tell me how you're furthering the brand by posting our lack of mascot every day on X (you being Ragin' Review). You aren't moving the idea down the road any faster. You think doing something about it every day is going to get something done. It isn't....
UL mouth piece at work
mascot or not, why did they pull my ole pal russell out of the nursing home to get butts in the seats at cajundome games?? and wow people showed up to the game didnt they and before you say it was the team the same team played a week later in front of a thousand people. if mascots dont matter why do only 8 programs not have one?? guess were smarter than everybody else. our marketing is sooooo superior to our peers isnt it.
I'm indifferent on the mascot, while I would love to have one, I would only want it if it was a really good one. I don't think it hurts our brand not having one, but it could enhance it if it was the right one. I think about WKU, you may hate the big red Kool-Aid Blob, but they have one of the most iconic G5 mascots. ESPN has put him in so many spots, people know who he is and what school he is the mascot for. If we get one, it has to be a really good one, if not, then don't do it.
Seriously, is it? Because I think most of us have a hard time believing that.
And as far as what's being posted on X, we are acknowledging it. Whether or not it helps is up to the people hired to do this kind of stuff. We are just fans that don't want to sit back and just accept the status quo of "well, we can't."
The problem is that no one knows if the idea is even moving down the road. Like most issues with the university, it's a lack of communication that most take issue with. Just simply put out a statement thanking alums for making a mascot concept which made local TV, but that there are no plans for a replacement for Cayenne at the moment. At least there's some acknowledgement on the admin's part.
You rang, buttercup?
After 5 years, it still surprises me how obsessed you people are with bashing Ragin Review. The man is simply talking about a mascot, which whether you like it or not, engages people in conversation. Which is, ya know, how you get people to stay interested in your product. And yes, we do know for a fact there is no movement whatsoever on the mascot front.
If anyone is an embarrassment, it's you and your constant blaming of fans. It's been happening for as long as I can remember. You are one of the MANY reasons why we can't draw flies to an opening night kickoff. Constant demeaning of fans and supporters. That's what's truly embarrassing. Stop talking about what Ragin Review does. They don't need your critiques or your endorsement.
And btw WE NEED A MASCOT DAY #10000000000000
