8 is going to be the man at LB. Hopefully some day he will be in the league with his brother.

Yes. And for those who say Mike settled on his coordinator hire just because he and Lamar played together. I was talking to some close to Mike yesterday at my tailgate and he said Lamar had offers to go to other G5 programs this off season for a little more money. He turned them down because he saw the moves a lateral and this place just means more to him. I like what I see from his D so far. Some day he will be the D coordinator at a P5 program.
Thank you Lamar for your time here as a player and now coordinator.
Chandler graduates in December. I expect him to play elsewhere next season as a grad transfer. Note, I have no inside knowledge of this. Just a prediction. As far as OL play goes, even Coach Dez said it needs improvement. First thing he said in post game interview with Cody. Now recall last season that unit improved as season went along. I think not having the guy slated to start at RT was a bigger issue than anticipated. Wonder if they will use a back to chip oncoming rushers going forward. Personally I think running the ball more would help the passing game. A positive was the few Cajun penalties. Another was execution on our successful fourth and one run play. Faking trying to draw Demons offsides with QB under center and snapping ball before play clock expired was a nice touch.
As far as attendance, if the numbers were based on scanner, it may be low. I had an odd experience. I do not have season tickets this year because last year I had family pack and my grandkids did not attend but like once. This year I decided to just play it by ear and buy tickets if needed. I bought myself a ticket this week at the Cajun Dome box office. They printed my ticket without me asking. I guess that is what they did with all in person sales. When I got to the gate to enter the game, The student looked at my ticket and said "you have to have an electronic ticket, we cannot scan a paper ticket." I was kind of frustrated and it probably showed. About that time another person came up and said to just let me in without scanning anything.
They need to prepare these kids better for this. I would have gladly taken an electronic ticket at the CD box office. I have an account with RCAF and season tickets to basketball. A printed ticket was all I was offered.
Agree with all the positives and negatives posted here.
On the QB front…it is the single most important position and that player has the most control on the outcome of close games. We had a true difference maker here for 3 years. Post Levi the staff is struggling to find which one of our flawed QBs is best.
We will probably be in 4-6 one possession games and we need a leader that can sometimes make a play out of nothing. From what we have seen Woolridge and Fields are both serviceable QBs, but not the type of players to lift an offense. Chriss is intriguing but he is obviously not better because he would be starting if he was.
It will be interesting to see this season play out. Is the OL really that bad at pass protection? Do we really have stone hand TE? Should we go to a 65/35 run/pass offense?
Bottom line is the staff has a lot of work ahead. There are no obvious answers to getting the offense back to what it was 3 years ago.
When the game started I thought it was close to 20k
Offense was not on point. Hopefully they find their rhythm. Defense will keep us in every game this year. With any kind of consistency with the offense this is a 70 point game. NWST is not a good team.
