No LOUISIANA for Cheer Team

This makes no sense. Does she not see signs everywhere of how we brand ourselves?

I'm seeing more and more of our own people fight against our branding these days to cater to the BR people. Have some self esteem about your school. Sheesh.

This weekend I was talking to KK Jr as the apple of his eye is currently a UL cheerleader. For those that don’t KNOW cheer got a new coach this year that I think moved up from the HS ranks. That coach told the cheerleaders that they can no longer use LOUISIANA in their cheers and they had to remove the LOUISIANA lettering from on there megaphones and replace it with the stacked Ragin Cajuns logo. In all cheers LOUISIANA has been replaced with Ragin Cajuns.

Her reasoning for doing this as explained to the cheer team is any school in the state can claim Louisiana and we are not the only school in Louisiana. The cheer team did not agree and did give some push back. Don’t know if what the final out come will be yet.

So, if this is true, is she going to make them stop using the UL hand gesture that our cheerleaders have used for years. Also, should she not reach out to the athletic department that says clearly that athletically we are known as Louisiana or UL.

Not to mention that Geaux Ragin’Cajuns isn’t as as good as Geaux UL, or Louisiana. Similar to an alliteration.
