No LOUISIANA for Cheer Team

This weekend I was talking to KK Jr as the apple of his eye is currently a UL cheerleader. For those that don’t KNOW cheer got a new coach this year that I think moved up from the HS ranks. That coach told the cheerleaders that they can no longer use LOUISIANA in their cheers and they had to remove the LOUISIANA lettering from on there megaphones and replace it with the stacked Ragin Cajuns logo. In all cheers LOUISIANA has been replaced with Ragin Cajuns.

Her reasoning for doing this as explained to the cheer team is any school in the state can claim Louisiana and we are not the only school in Louisiana. The cheer team did not agree and did give some push back. Don’t know if what the final out come will be yet.

I guess the cheerleader coach should tell Dr. Maggard to remove Louisiana from our sports' uniforms then. Why are we still fighting this inhouse? It's 2023.

First, conformation is needed from the athletic department. Secondly, Dr Maggard should address this.

The last cheer coach graduated from LSU her mother graduated from USL. And she did nothing like this.

Is this something the cheerleading coach did on their own or were they instructed by higher ups to do this? Either way it is something that should not happen. WE ARE LOUISIANA! Promote it whenever and wherever you can.

She is a Nicholls State University graduate and her husband a lspoo grad.

Yea, we definitely don’t want to confuse Louisiana with Northwestern State.
