Thread: ESPN Bowl Projections

  1. UL Football ESPN Bowl Projections

It’s an ESPN+ article and I know not all have that subscription so thought I’d share. It’s just the opinion of two writers Kyle Schlabach and Mark Bonagura.

Included all in-state schools even though some of yall beat your dog at the thought of another team yet love to post threads about them.

    R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl
    Caesars Superdome (New Orleans)
2:15 p.m., ESPN and the ESPN App
    Bonagura: Western Kentucky vs. Marshall
    Schlabach: Louisiana Tech vs. Troy

    Cure Bowl
    Exploria Stadium (Orlando, Florida)
3:30 p.m., ABC and the ESPN App
    Bonagura: Louisiana vs. Northern Illinois
Schlabach: Appalachian State vs. North Texas

    Myrtle Beach Bowl
    Brooks Stadium (Conway, South Carolina)
2:30 p.m., ESPN and the ESPN App
    Bonagura: Louisiana Tech vs. Troy
Schlabach: Ball State vs. Georgia Southern

    Vrbo Fiesta Bowl
    State Farm Stadium (Glendale, Arizona)
1 p.m., ESPN and the ESPN App
    Bonagura: Utah vs. Penn State
    Schlabach: Washington vs. Tulane

    Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic
    AT&T Stadium (Arlington, Texas)
8 p.m., ESPN and the ESPN App
    Bonagura: USC vs. Kansas State
    Schlabach: Texas vs. LSU

    Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl
    Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta)
Noon, ESPN and the ESPN App
    Bonagura: LSU vs. Tulane
    Schlabach: Clemson vs. Alabama

Schlabach did not have UL in a bowl.

Don’t forget Tech plays tonight against FIU. Last season FIU defeated Tech 42-34 in 2OT. Hope it’s another fun game to watch.

I watched the end of the Tech game. Neither team looked very good. Only way Tech makes a bowl is because overall weakness of CUSA.

LA Tech is not a good football program. LA Tech sports all are terrible it seems now.

The only thing that was decent was Smoke Harris and QB1 for LaTech. Other than that they have their work cut out for them. They look smaller than years past too. FIU literally looked like a 6A Texas program.

FIU had 3 yards of offense on 6 possessions in the second half and still almost won the game. They were not playing Alabama. It was a conference opponent. Have you ever heard of something like that?

    Never

FIU lead for the first 59 minutes.

Should have gone for 4th & 1 deep in their territory. Their defense was absolutely spent and were far more likely to give up the lead than a failed power play for a yard. Probably goes against analytics but passes the eye test. First down and they go into Victory Formation.

    Both horrible teams.

So if we play them in a bowl game, we feel comfortable with this years’ team breaking the 0-8 streak?
