Pretty sure this is one topic we all agree on. Stop harassing the students that are trying to support the university athletic programs. Move the student tailgate back with everyone else instead of their fenced in prison area. The students are adults so treat them like adults.

I wasn't in a fraternity but I would have been banned from the university if these rules were in place back then. Good thing social media was just starting out and not something all evidence was posted to.

We need to bombard her email. See post one.

It kind of actually resembled a real college student atmosphere at a school who’s off campus stadium struggles to do that.
Though never part of a frat, participated in that a couple times, Greek house to Cajun Field, and it definitely seemed like a "students bonding then moving like an army" to the stadium. And that was during the sad sack BALDWIN years.

Imagine something like that during the Napier era when we were a Top 25 program.

My take from this is if BP’s son is correct are close to correct on the percentages where are the non Greeks do they hate parties, football and fun? How do you get more general students out. Greek organizations are a very small part of the entire student population. Looks like you lose them you are screwed.
Bama has 17 sororities and thousands of Greeks. We should mimic Alabama to whatever extent possible.

Their pledges made news, and not in a bad way.

So Martin Hall saw her as the perfect fit and hired her. See the motive here? It is not a secret what is going on here.
This is why it is so dang hard to defend Martin Hall and TJoe. This kinda stuff makes me so angry because it is SO STUPID.

I have said this my whole adult life. The biggest problem this university has is that the ideological leanings of the Administration are completely different than the parents of the students it serves.

This is the disconnect that is destroying the fan base.

you can't compare the greek culture at MSU to our greek culture, at MSU especially Ol Miss the culture is huge, at Ol Miss if you aren't in a frat or sorority you are invisible on that campus. UL has never been a campus where it was imperative to be the greek system and you see a lot of flow between the greeks and non greeks. So MSU and UL greek systems are not a fair comparison. A better comparison would be USM and UL where at USM there are greeks but it isn't as important to your college experience to be in the greek system. And for reference the MSU frat row is the first thing you see when you drive onto campus and their house are massive compared to any house at UL

So ooo? I suppose that you still don’t think it’s a good idea to hamstring the Greeks? I’m a GDI but that’s just me, I want a strong Greek presence at UL.

And…..just like that you miss the point. The Greeks are the lifeblood of future individual donations. They are tied to the university and are your future fans.

How do you fail to see that the Greek system was much stronger in the 70’s & 80’s than they are now. That is the group of hardcore fans we have now. Their children and themselves is all we have.

90’s-present UL has decreased the Greek organizations on campus. Limited the size of fraternities/sororities. The result is a downward trend in contributions and attendance.

It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to understand that.

College Football is College. Absolute Fact. These wise folks at UL need to head over to the Archives in Garland and have a look see at ATHLETICS @ SLII, SLI, USL, LOUISIANA.

    Nice find.

ps Bulldogs didn't show up till 1921.

1901-21 game representatives were often picked from the student body.

For 1901-1920 let's go with the Southwestern Louisiana Football Team or SLII Football Team, or another designator.

Check out the '01 written on the pigskin.

    You are correct T.
