Go take a walk through fraternity row in Knoxville or Tuscaloosa on a Saturday morning. It’s a frickin zoo. Then that zoo parades into Neyland or BDS. We are literally giving our fan base an abortion. Killing the baby before it breathes its first breath on its own. Back the fk off and let these kids have fun. Maybe then 5 years down the line you won’t have to be hemorrhaging the same old fan base you’ve been gutting for 40 years.

. . . we had a poker game at my woodworking partner’s house . . . I brought a 6 pk of Budweiser longnecks . . . towards the end of the night I noticed I had two leftover so I walked to his patio to put them in his fridge for tomorrow . . . his 18 year old Louisiana freshman sitting on the patio took them and asked if they were for him . . . I said surely take one if you would like it . . . the smile on his face was priceless . . . we need to get off the students azzzzzes if we want them to participate and become lifelong supporters . . .

Mike all I know is that Alabama sororities have been getting millions of free advertising tv eyes as the 17 women Greek organizations take thousands of young women in just prior to kickoff of Alabama football.

Actually it’s impossible to keep everyone totally sober, but surely they can have reached some understanding with the Greek community to be protective of their minor members and especially hazing and binge drinking as part of that.

I was a recent grad during the Hud years and the only time I saw the most casual of my Cajun friends at CF was when student tailgating was an absolute party scene. Martin Hall needs to take a page out of our former HFBC, "scared money don't make money." Liability issues or not, the best we can do is educate out Greeks about the dangers of alcohol poisoning & hazing and trust them to police themselves.

Alcohol at university events is a huge liability. One under-21 kid sneaks one drink at a Greek party, gets killed or kills somebody, it will make national news and the whole university will be pulled into it.

Don't get mad at UL. We didn't create this problem.
They have officers checking the crowd and giving MPIs at every tailgate in the state of Louisiana. No one is saying let a bunch of 18 year olds drink in public. Just let them in the party.

On a side note in schools that are located in dry counties where a kid can’t buy a natural lite illegal drugs run rampant.

CM hazing today is nonexistent if you compare it to years past. The things they call hazing today makes them look like Boy Scouts compared to the 70s 80s and 90s.

Agree. No hazing does not mean no fun

I used to go watch practice at least three days a week during the first 6 Bustle years.

There was never a question of who could go, and, who couldn't.

TW did stop me from taking pictures of drills once. He did it with just a stern look.

    I got the message.

They sell alcohol at athletic events, and why at a Greek party? What about any student at any party or anywhere on campus? Why is only Greeks the liability?
