Yup Garner had a 2nd round grade while here. Left for LSU and was their best CB. He went undrafted. He will likely still make a NFL roster this season though.

I never thought Garner was that good. When he left UL he was a third team sun belt corner.

Student-athletes are chattel; it's akin to trafficking and slavery. Players are targeted, and yes, you may argue, they are paid. But the cost of all this goes far beyond the treatment of skilled athletes as a commodity. We're losing something important while trying to fix what was a broken system. Student-athletes are pimping themselves out; it seems un-Christian.

Alabama knew exactly who Trey Amos was, exactly what skill set he offered, and they bought him to fill a temporary need. In the olden days they wouldn't have known him from Adam. When they are done with him, he will be discarded like candy wrapper.

I think people realize this and either don't care, or just look they other way.
A candy wrapper with 300k in his pocket.

. . . all this just bolsters the position that where a University like Louisiana’s bread is buttered is in Academia, not athletics . . . once some of you get that, we can have nice things here, until then, just keep on being miserable and enjoy your miserable existence . . . Dr Fun has it right . . .

You think so? I don’t know. He really showed out in Shreveport.

Not even close to what I typed.

So again, I stand by what I said: If Amos ends up being the starter at Alabama and can hang in there as the starter for the season, he will be drafted.
Wow. Really going out on a limb on that one, huh?
