No, that's not true. I looked at this a while back when so many here wanted to state that basketball in the south was dead due to attendance and I noted that our average attendance was literally about the same as it is today. We just had some good opponents come in and kind of bump the attendance from time to time or the rivalry with UNO or WKU that often pumped up the numbers a bit.
Not digging that deep. The facts documented easily speak for themselves AFA the every game fantasy.
Shot down the sold out the dome crap that gets brought up every year or so while I was at it.
Basketball attendance has been generally trending downward since the dome opened.
If we were serious about being the best program we can be and not just content with the SBC. We wouldn’t make excuses. Our Coach wouldn’t have waited 12 years to fund raise. Our schedules would feature higher profile road games and higher profile home games.
You know what that would all require? A higher commitment from the UL Administration in Martin Hall. We don’t have that. If they treated the advancement of athletics like they do the advancement of academics we could have it all.
But instead of a symbiotic relationship athletics is viewed as a necessary evil.
If they put a new court in an empty arena and nobody's there to see it...did they really put a new court?
Guess we'll find out.
