It’s relevant. The guy can’t help himself when it comes to posting about marlin on here or on social media. It’s not a good look and very unprofessional. If you don’t think T-Joe or Maggard take things like this into account you are sadly mistaken. They don’t want someone leading the basketball program that engages in silly spats on social media. Get real.

Over the last decade we've averaged over 20 wins per season. While that isn't good enough for some of you (and I'm sure you'll try to detract from those numbers), I can guarantee there are HUNDREDS of D-1 programs that wish they had that kind of success.

Quit acting like the program sucks.

You’re right, there are hundreds of programs that never experienced the success of Shipley, Pascal, even Fletcher, and Evans. There’s also hundreds more that wouldn’t have kept Bob Marlin.

We’re wanting someone who can deliver upsets and be good against good programs. He didn’t do it at Sam Houston, and still waiting here.

PreMaggard failures? We’ve hit this made up barometer of success (20 wins) once in the last five years. And people will still claim the lack of excitement in the program is due to people being “negative” on a message board. Insanity.

I said pre-Maggard years as a revelation that whatever the fans thought Coach should have achieved, Dr. Maggard was not holding it against him like fans do. as for the 5 years, 1 Reg season champ and 1 tourney champ with a NCAA and NIT during that time. I expect and would love more than that, but few will be pushing coaches out the door for that in a 5 year window, especially when the championships are split up during that window.

Now, I will present it another way, if message board negativity has no impact, why is it that negative people continuously promote their negative feelings? Its reasonable to assume they believe it will have an impact on someone. this is NOT all or nothing. negative post is NOT some be all cause for our current situation. It has its place and timing. Message boards are also an extension of life, this is not Las Vegas. things said here dont just stay here, there is carry over. It should be said, this subject is not about Coach Marlin. he gets a lot of it but its bigger than just him.

one example, the feelings about Coach Marlin, some people have been tired of him for years, and they have let it be know loudly for years, how can we not believe they intend it to impact others feelings. Be it fans, boosters or employees of the University. Also understand once said, people can not control who all gets affected, maybe borderline fans, young/new fans etc. of course the last part is speculation but it happens when words and energy is put into the atmosphere.

We did not win a regular season title and a tournament title in that 5 year span.

I talk to both of those guys when we cross paths all the time. I am simply a fan with an opinion like you. Marlin has done what he has needed to, to be here for 15 years maybe 20. Congrats to him. I’ll be at every game showing my support. I still love the Cajuns and UL…
