    Bingo.

Coach Marlin deserved his extra few years with what we accomplished last season.

With that said, I personally think 4 years is too many based on the last 5 seasons. Up until tournament weekend in 2022, he had one foot out the door until that 3 day run. Then, last year it was win or leave which we won.

We can talk about padded wins against the likes of McNeese and Loyola-New Orleans until the cows come home, but the reality is that he saved his job in 2022 and last year with late season runs.

I'm not sure his job was ever really in jeopardy. Jen and Kerry are BFF's.

His job was most certainly in jeopardy before all the injuries a few years ago and then covid. He promised Jordan Brown to the higher ups and he delivered. I’m not sure about the details of his contract so hopefully someone else can clarify. But has he gotten a raise? Lowered his salary/buyout with a more incentive based contract?

Maybe he can hang on a few more years until the hall of fame director of broadcasting retires and he could slide in to that newly formed position and tell us more about the game he loves and made a career at

The fact there are clearly anti - Marlin fans on here acting shocked is wild, and then follow it up with how poor the excitement for the program is. You can be a fan any way you choose, but if you want positive vibes around your schools program, it cant hurt to quietly walk away. you dont always have to be loud with your displeasure, your empty seat can speak volumes on its own.

All Cajun programs need to have some positive energy to build on especially in this new portal environment we live in now. even after making the NCAA tourney some people want the energy to stay negative. at least save it for a bad season. This place is the
un-offical board for the school, and is more often than not, as negative towards the school and its programs as what the rivals we face say about us. Energy level is important. Fake it sometimes guys.

Now, its was know before last season started if the team won a championship he would get an extension. anyone that knows about contracts also know any coach with less than 3 years is basically a lame duck and recruiting is much harder. Not the place you want to be in long term. Its also well known Dr. Maggard is a fan of Marlin, and Marlin has been solid during the Maggard years. I know fans remember pre-Maggard failures by Marlin, but those seem to not count for Dr. Maggard. I personally dont agree with that, but it is what it is.

PreMaggard failures? We’ve hit this made up barometer of success (20 wins) once in the last five years. And people will still claim the lack of excitement in the program is due to people being “negative” on a message board. Insanity.

Missed on that, Bustle (another nice guy) never saw post season.

Just boils down to in 4 years we may be looking for a 30 something up and comer.

It’s an unfortunate bond Maggard, Savoy, Marlin and Broadhead all share. Don’t underestimate the depth of the relationships and respect.

The up and comer needs to be B Boyd.
