That's your opinion. No one here spends time visiting with coaches at the Coaches Convention and understands that point of view.
I don't dismiss your view entirely that someone would indeed take the opportunity to
coach at UL. There will always be people who are willing to take a position to build a resume along a career path. But that doesn't mean there would not be some collateral damage to this program's reputation.
Saying what is obvious to me doesn't mean I support all aspects of the contract, specifically the length and buyout, I do not. But let's not conflate the point that it was reasonable to extend Coach Marlin, with this idea that everyone is happy with the results.
