This was all about T Joe, and Maggard being happy with Bob, and they should just come out and say that.
That's your opinion. No one here spends time visiting with coaches at the Coaches Convention and understands that point of view.

I don't dismiss your view entirely that someone would indeed take the opportunity to
coach at UL. There will always be people who are willing to take a position to build a resume along a career path. But that doesn't mean there would not be some collateral damage to this program's reputation.

Saying what is obvious to me doesn't mean I support all aspects of the contract, specifically the length and buyout, I do not. But let's not conflate the point that it was reasonable to extend Coach Marlin, with this idea that everyone is happy with the results.

After finishing in 8th place with Jordan Brown on the roster, we decided to retain Bob and have the AD go on live radio to push some false narrative of a “75% winning percentage” on the fanbase. Any talk of buyout numbers is a moot point. If we didn’t fire our coach who we pride on hitting 20 wins after he failed to do so for 4 straight years, that will never happen. Settle in for 4 more years of Bobby Ball and hope he can produce, or tune out (which most Cajun fans have done).

    Ask yourself this question honestly...

Do you think our basketball program will be in a better spot in 3 years?

obviously we will know the answer in 3 years.

. . . All of this has been asked and the decision has been made . . . Prior to announcing the new contract terms, all of this whining was ok . . . since the decisions have been made, it’s really water under the bridge . . . learn to enjoy the things you can’t change . . . this is one of them . . .
