Not all losses are the same.
Not at all. Maybe I am attempting to focus on bright spots of current timeframe. And show the oh woe is me crowd that we aren't that far removed from the "glory days" All we hear about is branding and messaging. How is it good messaging to focus on negative and say you want a tourney bid receiving coach fired or not extended? Others will think we aren't good as well and thus we won't "move up" or they won't play us because perception of it hurting their rpi/sos and the circle continues.

If that happened today: how did Marlin lose so many recruiting battles for potential pros to Lamar and McNeese

Hurt Recruiting? Which coach works with the shooters? One Coach on staff played D1 Basketball, the rest never played past HS.
How do they determine who gets paid what. One asst gets 70K, the other one gets 100K, the Recruiting Coordinator who got demoted a few years ago makes 90K. The asst with the most basketball experience gets paid the least.

Unless he values loyalty and likes it here more.

....and they wonder why most HR departments try to keep salary info confidential and review social media as part of candidate search process....

I guess the administration could have just given the one year extension required by the previous contract and made a decision on the future at the end of the upcoming season. They chose a different route for a variety of reasons I presume. I think they know pressure is on to have another successful season.

Dr. Maggard does not support participation in pay for play tournaments. We have not done so since he has been here.

If I’m not mistaken, Coach Perrin played for years at Campbell University. Coach Zimmerman played for years at Mississippi State.

One played and average of less then 4 minutes per game in 4 years, which means you never really played college ball and one was ALL SEC. So which one would you say has more experience?

But your statement was untrue. You stated that no one on the staff plate passed high school. That being said just because you were a great player doesn’t make you a great coach and just because you’re a great coach doesn’t mean necessarily you were a great player some of the greatest coaches of all time didn’t play the game.

I’m not saying that both can’t be true. I’m just saying that there’s a chance that just because you didn’t play doesn’t mean you can’t be a great coach.

I said one coach played D1
basketball. You don’t have to play basketball to be a basketball coach, you’re correct. Which one would you say has more experience? Please name
me some of the greatest Coaches that never played?
