There is hyperbole in that statement. Yes it rained (sometimes lightly) most of the day of the K State game. However, it stopped completely a half hour before kickoff. I attended the game and did not get a drop on me. Important thing is we won the game with a last second FG.
. . . have we become such snobs that we no longer care that we are on the field but care more about the opponent we see when we come to the field . . . that is another reason why we can’t have nice things here . . . Willing to stifle our attendance because of who is not on the field against us will keep us at a level where we can’t afford to purchase better competition, but keep protesting into the status quo . . .
Ok State was on a Friday. ESPN moved it cause they need a good matchup that night. I remember everyone was b*+ching cause of highschool football but we still had a decent crowd.
My point is that we all want more K-State and OSU type teams here but 3 for 1 would mean years of only 5 home games with no guarantee of a sold out P5 home game. Our good match up always get moved to weekdays already so your look at 2 or 3 Saturday home games. That would kill tailgating all together
I thought I got rained on at the k state game as well. Maybe I’m thinking of another game.
Nothing like bustles first win against UAB 34-0 water falls down the isles.
I was in Starkvegas a couple of weeks ago moving my youngest into the dorms and their campus is beautiful and the area around the stadium is incredible, any of us would love a smaller version of that stadium, also everywhere you look in that town are apparel stores dedicated to MSU gear. Now the town is nothing except for the area aound campus and the old town which has been revitalized with restaurants and shops. Now except for the hotels around campus there isn't much in way for lodging but fans stay in area towns for game weekends, (the comfort suite was over $200 a night for move in weekend, I would hate to see the rate for game weekends. So in summary I wouldn't dog out MSU to much, save it for the toothless wonders across the basin
I went to the game in Starkville when we played there a few years back I do not remember the hotel being crazy expensive but maybe. I know it was not 200.00 a night then.
we were at the Comfort Suites right across from campus, I tried to see what a game weekend rate would be, but couldn't find any rooms available to see
