Don't stop getting your name out their because a certain demographic has their mind predetermined.

The Ivy league used athletics in the late 1800's and early 1900s to create awarness.

Nothing has changed, athletics is the only way you get name recognition which in turn makes selling a known entity, much much easier.

I didn’t say to stop. But marketing athletics to the upper echelons of academia has no bearing on their school(s) of choice. Everyone else. Sure.

Well you should know UL has a lot of valedictorians, salutatorians and top tier students from all over the state, country and world. Some are even athletes who play for UL.

UNO is less than $20M with Tech under $30M. And these are the number two and three in the ULS. UL is way ahead of everyone else.

    Total research?

As reported in the NSF listings - which is a yes. UL is in the Top 100 Public Universities - and without a Med School. UL came in just over $205M this past year - and, there are more big things happening.

Something needs to break State’s stranglehold on the medical schools.

ULM is perfectly capable of converting the medical school renting space into the ULM medical school and health complex.

    LSU-HSC-S: . . . . . $21M
    Tech: . . . . . . . . . . . $27M
    LSU-HSC-NO: . . . .$44M
LSU (LSU-BR, Pennington, LSU Ag, Vet School, Law School):
    . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $296M

As we have noted, LSU has 3 times our faculty, 4 times our funding, and 5 times our doctoral programs. So here's my question: If we subtract Pennington, LSU Ag, LSU Vet, & LSU Law; does LSU-BR by itself pull in less than $200M??

Has UL passed LSU in research funding?
