Thread: Let’s Talk Some Baseball

    Default Let’s Talk Some Baseball

I want to be absolutely clear, I hate being critical of the administration. I hate watching this university fail time and time again. Yet it’s the only thing that’s consistent with this administration.

I’ve been sitting on this for a week or two. This ticketing office/RCAF and reseating plan that is about to be unveiled for baseball will be a monumental failure. It will destroy this fan base.

Be prepared for another reseating if the grandstand. Or pony up a lot more cash. Grandstand people will be moved to outside the canopy or drop your seats.

These people want to charge the same or close to what Miss State is charging for similar seats. How in the world do these folks not understand who their base is. It’s absolutely absurd.

Failing to understand the nature of Cajuns and Cajun fans is unbelievable. Once you lose a Cajun support you’ll never get them back. Unbelievable!!!

Once again ____ down our leg and tell us it’s raining.

I’m not 100% sure on the pricing, but sections 106-110 will once again go through a reseating. Your RCAF donation for the right to purchase a ticket will be close to double the current cost per seat. The actual season ticket per seat will be at least one third higher.

For those who aren’t willing to make those contributions but still want to buy season tickets you’ll be relocated to outside of the grandstand.

I understand the need to increase revenue to pay for improvements. But this is not the way to do it. Growing and attracting more season ticket holders in the proper path and this move will only alienate the current base.

Also, the RCAF redirected funds for the clubhouse that was previously raised to cover COVID shortfalls.

Boot me out of the grandstand when I've had seats in the Tigue/Russo grandstand for over 15 years and you'll justify my decision to not spend another dime in that place. Probably justify dropping football season tickets too out of protest.

Perhaps they should just try to finish collecting money from Russo before going after season ticket holders.

Well - I'll drop my 5 tickets in Sec 107 and I'm done with UL sports. That will save me a lot of money. My $1500 Diamond Club annual donation as well.

Edit: I dropped basketball a couple years ago already. No chance I'll get that back either - if this happens.

2nd edit: Part of this decision would be inability to keep my current seats AND the people in nearby/adjacent seats. The idea of clearing the grandstand and re-seating the entire grandstand is just dumb and will alienate many. On the bright side, should be plenty of walk-up tickets available!

I’m truly hoping that this thread will gain a lot of traction and have the people in charge rethink the idiotic idea that they plan to go forward with.

I'm assuming that this will happen before next season?

Baseball is self - sufficient. It's about baseball being viewed as the cash cow to fund the other sports. It's not about being a state school or competing with MS State or LA State in the regionals. How often does LA State or MS State reseat their grandstand?

Agree on clearing the grandstand. If you want to raise prices do it gradually and let the market dictate the outcome.
