Get a grip on yourselves people. This heat wave is getting to yall. This is nothin more than typical dog days of summer depression kicking in.

As soon as football season starts and the cool weather comes, the juices will start flowing again. Trust me.

I agree it seems the administration has given up. That doesn’t mean I have. I can only imagine, or hope, they are laying low until the renovation is publicly announced and a huge push will be made then. Full court press heading into the ‘24 season???

Head in the sand. The absolute failure of marketing, failure to understand what is here, failure to capture what’s special about this place and the failure to do anything that works. If on the administration.

Calling out thief failures isn’t being negative. It’s demonstrating weakness within the system. How do they change it, respond to it, or just move along acting like nothing will make it better.

I can tell you that they will do nothing. We know they will do nothing because they never do anything.

For example, this university will wait until the USM game to start pushing the stadium reconstruction. That’s the 10th ____ing game if the season. Does that make any sense at all? Does that build a buzz around this season, build excitement, rejuvenate a base that is fading away?

But let’s sure as hell promote DEI and Gender Studies and any other bull____ non-productive program at this university likes it’s an accomplishment.

R1, Great! Thank you COVID and the primate research center. Top 20 in football, SBC Championship, 13-1 season….silence.

But it’s not done deliberately. Come on man, Savioe and Authement might as well be first cousins.

Hud went around town telling everyone "I want Cajun Field to be the most dangerous place to play in the nation," and the people here took it to heart along with the "Hold The Rope" campaign which took off. We brought 40k plus to the Superdome during that 4 year run like it was nothing. Our attendance against Tulane in the 2013 NOLA bowl came just under 60k, and we outnumbered them 4-1 IN THEIR OWN STADIUM at the time. So, the people are there. We just have to put some effort and go get them again.

As for MAT and Ragin Review, it's going to be tough to say goodbye. But the show must go on as Nick and I will carry the torch. But there's no doubt MAT played a huge role in growing this thing into what it is today. His passion and hard work has made us one of the more popular recent college fan podcasts.
I’m happy you and Nick will continue carrying the torch. Thanks in advance to both of you!

Well the guys thought it would be unfair to just stop showing up for the show and asked that I post something to start the conversation. And with respect, I’ve manned up a lot over the years. But especially via RR, where we spent 20-30 hours a week doing a show, connecting people, engaging other belt fanbases, doing live events, inviting people to our tailgates, blasting the brand as far as we could, interviewing commissioners/national personalities/writers/administrators/officials and giving several thousands of dollars to RCAF and various other initiatives. People probably forget that during covid and thereafter, RR was the only “media” talking Ragin Cajuns sports. And for what? To be flat out lied to? Lied about? To have “friends” sabotage your efforts behind the scenes? To be vilified for asking hard questions?

It’s not even about the RR stuff for me though. I’m willing to fight for anything I believe in, but I will not waste my time and resources on something/someone that isn’t willing to fight for themselves. And that’s what is happening at this University.

Just this week I have received at least 4-5 emails about the upcoming season, one mailer, at least daily facebook posts with many being hype video's for the upcoming season. I don't do twitter but can only assume their are tweets going out daily. Last week I received my parking passes only days after I spoke to a rep at rcaf about mailing them since I won't be in town till game day this year, and received a direct email from rcaf. I can't comment on the Lafayette advertising since I live out of town, but to day that rcaf and athletics aren't marketing is a misleading statement.

The failure to recognize the 2021 Championship, not recognizing the Swamps 50th anniversary, not acknowledging bowl wins inside CF= Apathy in the athletic Dept...time for the the corner office guys to go...

So, they didn't listen to you, so f'n what, say it again to different people, or say it in a different way. Don't give up, don't ever give up on this school and this athletic program. We may not like it, but losing the diehards are the end of this athletic program. We need to build a new group of diehards behind us. I see more UL and Louisiana and Ragin' Cajuns around this town then I did 30 years ago. I think there is an opportunity, it's going to take hard work and getting our hands dirty.

The starting point for this corporations around town. We need to take companies, big, small and medium size that support UL and promote the hell out of them all over social media, word of mouth and everywhere in between. We need to get our business around town to get their employees and children into the stadium every Saturday. Sure, we would love them to be corporate sponsors, but they don't have to be, they can support from outside the RCAF if they would like.

This would need to be a grassroots effort from the fan base, if the university does not get on board with us, then we will do it without them.

I will never stop supporting the Cajuns, NEVER!!!!!!

The day I take my last breath on this earth, I will still be watching a Cajun event.
It’s just not worth it anymore, Dave. We’ve been fighting the same fight as long as I’ve been associated with this place. We are smack dab in the middle of a replica of 2014. Success across most sports and absolutely nothing done with it. Crazy thing is, Academics are soaring, and we still can’t capitalize.

Like I mentioned earlier, I’ll give more perspective with stories we’ve accumulated over the last few years dealing with this admin on the show.

Gerry and Nick will do a great job carrying on RR. At this point in my life, I’d just rather spend my time with my family and investing in things that actually give me a return.

I sort of understand the frustration some of us have, but I will wait until the 2025 season to see what changes may take place in a renovated Cajun Field. I agree that some minor things could be done now, but I have a hard time justifying spending money on an old stadium while at the same time trying to raise money for a renovation project. I don’t see any light at the end of the tunnel until Cajun Field is renovated. But, until then, I will continue having my a-s-s in Cajun Field to see my team play.

On that note, what do the unicorns look like this year? Can they win it all?
