Ok perhaps not far, but it has always been a differentiator.
Sports bars have TVs and food. That’s pretty much the differentiator.

. . . when Pete’s opened, it was a bar . . . a Sport’s Bar . . . no minors were allowed to patron the place . . . at some point . . . it moved from a bar filled with pool tables, fools ball tables and TV’s to something else when it started catering more to families and kids groups for functions after kids athletic events, high school athletic events, Louisiana athletic events to birthday parties, meeting functions . . . just a place to eat which served alcohol and had plenty video type games for playing as opposed to filled with pool tables and TV’s for viewing . . . it is what it is now, but what it is is not a BAR . . .

I think we are seeing longer waits for food in places because of the influx of "to go" orders. Normally if you have to wait for a table you know food delay may follow, but the assurance is that once at your table they are somewhat ready for you. That is why you dont order while waiting and expect the food delivered immediately upon sit down.... But now with to go orders it seems there is no way to know how many to go orders are in the cue ahead of you. For example I went to IHOP and all the tables were empty, but food still took way too long, it turned out there were a lot of "to go" orders being prepared for pickup ahead of mine. Is there a way to inform people of that along the lines of the way they estimate how long the table wait is? Maybe a number sign showing how many to go orders pending, similar to a barber shop number sign? You can make a decision to sit or not stay based on wait time for table but this info needs to be added in to the decision making process

I miss $1.00 burger night on General Mouton. Used to live off of that.

All of that is true. The restaurant was pretty full with at least 3 large groups of people actually ‘eating’. That was the cause of the long wait for food.
