One interesting name on the roster is Jonathan Phenix, he is a CB from McGregor, Texas. He came to UL from Northern Iowa, a pretty good FCS team, but before that he spent 2 seasons with Houston. He redshirted in 2018, did not see any action in 2019. He is an older kid as his HS senior year was 2017. Looks like he sat out 2020, don't see any stats for him in 2021, then played last year for UNI. Last year he only appeared in 5 games.

Also, Tony Sterner is a kicker from Incarnate Word, he was the kickoff specialist for UIW last year and had about 30% of his kickoffs as touchbacks. He is out of Kingwood, TX.

King McGowen out for the season again. He injured his foot in late July. This kid can’t catch a break. The OL takes a hit already.

This stinks, but I think it is more about depth than the starting rotation. I think that the starting group was going to be:

C Landon Burton
RG Jax Harrington
LG AG Gillie
RT Quinton Williams (this is what hurts the most as I think he was going to be the #1 backup to Williams, who is unproven.)
LT Nathan Thomas
