Safety in numbers. They’ve figured it out.

exactly, the current haves will become the have nots and they not going to like that. when you get rid of the people "below" you, guess who is now on the bottom?

The drive for Superconferences is destroying collegiate athletics. The university presidents will either stop this or they will figure out a way to carve out Superconferences for football only alliances.
Most Olympic sports are budget busters. Why does NCAA require 14 sports anyway? Tough to achieve high quality for lower budget conferences like the Sun Belt. Maybe not popular in some quarters, but reduce to 11 minimum, (5 men's, 6 women's) convert the rest to club sports. Reallocate the savings across football, basketball, baseball, softball,
T & F, plus whatever else the university decides to continue.

College sports used to be fun and a way to escape. Not any more.

Great point. And don't forget if they don't get 8 home games vs just 4 road games anymore.

Loss Leader strategy. Keep competition out of the market and you win

It is getting to the point where is seems professional sports are more for the love of the game than college sports.

So, we know what happens next. Arizona to the Big XII... with Arizona State and Utah to follow.

    I would assume so.

Washington State and Oregon State will be like Idaho looking for a place to play.

Assuming the ZONA schools and Utah leaves as well, the best thing they can do is go big and take the best of what is available all the way to the Mississippi. It's the only way for them to remain relevant and keep he illusion of a P5 conference.
