You are correct. I didn’t say don’t take their money. But what I saw was an RCAF pamphlet. The RCAF fund raising right now should be all about football. If someone wants to walk in and give 7 mil for the club house take it and let him know you’ll start as soon as we get our most visible part of our athletic department done. It’s only about 5 years past due now. Should have been the first thing done and I think Dr Maggard has said as much.

I would imagine with just a job the size of our football project that will be about all the construction staging and traffic that area can handle at once.

Plenty of room to accomodate it all. And any people/companies contributing substantial money to either project are more than familiar with what is needed across the board. Delaying anything with baseball will do nothing to help football. This is really a non issue anyway as this is more about a perceived issue on a fan forum than a real concern for the athletic administration.

I said a few years ago that the football stadium should have been done before the Tigue and got ripped to shreds on here. First, the big donation that russo gave didnt even cover the full cost and any money put up by rcaf and other donors should not have been done until football was finished

And Tony would have never got to see it. The stadium is still being paid for by the fans and the program. Getting kind of pathetic at this point to blame the lack of football stadium on baseball. What’s even weirder is nobody mentions that softball was done before everyone, then basketball and then baseball. Or instead of addressing the press box first we bowled in the south end zone which wasn’t needed and did the student side at a different time. We also didn’t have anyone pledging $35 million for the project until now

If you say so. I was there just about every day during the SEZ bowl fill in and they had materials and debris from Reinhardt to the north end zone in the parking lots. The next Cajun field project will be 10 fold as they are demolishing and building something much greater than end zone seats.

Didn’t lamson pledge to build the softball park and paid for it all? And Russo kind of re-negged on some of his pledge? Stop me if I misremembered.

I don’t think anyone is blaming baseball for no football stadium remodel. They just saying scott farmer is the only AD in America to think it’s good to do softball and baseball before football.

There was some issues with some of the Russo family that may have had a problem.

    Scott Farmer?

    Softball probably Title IX.
Baseball probably advanced because Scott misled Robe.

They will do anything first if someone pays for it to get done.

From what I was told Russo pledged that he would match up to $5 million as they raised it. Someone didn’t get the other $5 million and basically lost his job over it and Tjoe stepped in and made the stadium happen. Don’t remember exactly how but I think they sold bonds to make it happen and Tony and the program deserved better than how that would go down if Tjoe didn’t. There were millions on top of millions of dollars of construction happening on campus simultaneously. The problem with the football stadium has always been funding. Now correct me if I’m wrong but we never had someone wanting to give us $35 million and if we did, we didn’t have anyone who knew how to secure it. It’s finally happening and if we can get baseball done at the same time I certainly don’t see the issue except maybe the tennis team having to play somewhere else.

I think someone mention that tennis was planning on building new courts elsewhere.
