Three of our home games are in scheduled the same day as Tsab and a 4th is on a Thursday. Our first home game is gonna be packed if weather is right. Then it'll drop off and y'all are gonna be on here butching about how our fans suck and yada yada.
Yep. If no one shows up that does mean our fans suck. Yada yada yada.
Man, our fans are great. Stuck by this program through all the bad years. I've seen our fans turn out in Austin. Houston; in Shreveport in the bitter cold. Latex and Monroe would've brought no one there. In Pensacola we had more fans than schools closer did. Only South Al had more but they weren't as passionat as us.
Our problem is that we are a "small" school way to close to a "big" school. That doesn't mean we have to accept it. It means you have to be honest with yourself and find a way to compete.
You can't just open a steakhouse right next to Ruth chriss and expect to make profit. You can copy their whole menu but you won't succeed. And ya can't say, oh the steakhouse in Ruston or the steakhouse in Boone is doing good with that menu. Those places don't have a Ruth chriss right next door.
I'm using Ruth chriss as an example here cause I find them overprice and generic but they still make money on name alone. That's what most P5 are. But we got to find a way to compete and saying our customers just suck is not gonna cut it. We gotta find a way to grow this fan base cause our hardcore customers are getting old and the younger generation are gonna need more than just free bread to come through the door
I agree with you on a lot of what you said. Ruston has worse attendance than us if you look at years before last year. I was also in Houston last year for Rice and in S-port for the Indy bowl I didn’t think we showed well for either. Just in my group for the Indy bowl we had 6 drop out that had tickets. I didn’t think we had that good attendance for either. I may want more for our program than some?
Thursday Night Light Night? Free Natty Light? Make it ladies night with free Natty Light and we'll have 30,000 people there.
