FWIW, parking for Taylor Swift was 120 a pop in Seattle. Perspective…
Well, for starters, I don't buy Tony Chachere's crappy azzed seasoning.
Dude, I don't know what we need to do.
13-1 was supposed to do it, but it didn't.
I absolutely agree with you that we have to have skin in the game to play. But, going off of your idea for at least a $100 donation to the RCAF, maybe increase it to $150 that includes two tickets?
I do think they need to lower the cost of tailgating. Maybe a band on Friday night with the accompanying pep rally.
But sorry, guys, as conservative as y'all say Lafayette is, we sure as hell do expect things to be free (Festivale Internationale, Festivale Acadiennes et Creoles, Mardi Gras.)
Huey is dead. His legacy screwed us once before. But we continue to let it screw us with the "something for nothing" mentality that we suck onto like a leech.
Chick I graduated with is living in Cincinnati and doing well in the property managment gig. Owns several properties and was able to offer up a dozen or parking spots several block from the arena that creepy little chick played at.
Her selling point was the parking spots WERE ON THE FREAKING LITE RAIL line they have.
$50.
I’ve said it several times, take the unsold tailgate spots and cut them In half and half the price. You increase your customer base and you don’t lose revenue per square foot. Not everyone needs a huge spot. You are bringing more people to the party. You are selling the same space for the same price and including a whole new segment of customers.
I’ve said before here. We created an entitled mindset within our fanbase when we allowed for free parking and cheap tailgate spots for decades. Now, we are charging for the same exact amenities where the quality of those amenities have stayed the same.
For example, let’s say I walk into McDonalds for a $5 burger. If I show up the next day and the same burger is $15-20, I’m most likely not going back. I see a similar pattern here to what we are selling. And the problem with that is there’s no messaging or reasons of why we are doing it. If we are going to charge, there better be some transparency to why other than “you owe it to your school,” especially here where we have festivals we can show up to for free.
Create a fun environment inside the gates of Cajun Field to where more people show up and make it affordable. From that point, the more people, the more chance for revenue.
“The next is when Billy’s team had the BLM (self proclaimed Marxist’s) march that ended at the police station that really p!$$€d some people off including the Lafayette PD. Several people have vowed to never come back after that incident.”
Should this new football team & coaches have a law enforcement appreciation day similar to military appreciation day? Would this help to bring back those disgruntled fans?
