I’ve been saying since the Cajun Chicken made his appearance in February: it’s time to put some effort into getting a mascot. Haven’t heard a peep from the university on the matter.
When Albineaux was brought up, love or hate the concept, it’s interesting that this individual put his free time and effort to at least come up with a concept. Has the university even acknowledged it? Said yes or no? If not, that tells me all I need to know on how important a mascot is.
TIME TO GET A MASCOT!!!!
When fans complain about things, here’s a glaring marketing fail. No mascot. Work is hard.
The campus swamp and its undisputed mascot is there for the taking, no work involved.
Claim it and work on the sideline version when work isn't just a four letter word.
God forbid we have a Bulldog again. I guess that would be "USL'ing" it too much. But a chili pepper was the bomb though.
We do not need a mascot. Five years from now, everyone will want a different mascot. Just like the "UL" and people wanting to change it to an "L". We don't have tradition because ever time we get new leadership, they want to change something, and Martin Hall (the marketing department), doesn't have a clue.
Can't see any reason for pushing the "L".
