Still a ton of Acadiana-area businesses heavily supporting oil & gas operations. Deepwater GOM has seen upticks recently, and the Permian Basin is booming. Lots of companies along the US 90 Energy Corridor have large yards and facilities in the Midland-Odessa metropolis.

I don't know which region will drive more of the demand for Acadiana-based industry service companies. Permian is extremely hot right now; however, Deepwater GOM investments have risen quite a bit over the past couple years, coming out of the COVID Crash.

The health sector will continue to grow in Lafayette, as many people come here for healthcare. This is why a medical school at UL just makes sense.

Speaking of the medical industry in Lafayette, UL will be opening its Health Science Campus next month. The location is on St Mary where the newly acquired property is located. It’s a start.

The mini-boom has actually been happening for the last 18 month but isolated to the natural gas & land frac / land drilling business. Offshore drilling has been slow to recover.
