It boggles my mind that students are not recruited to the RCAF.

We presented a detailed plan to start the program. The answer? “We don’t have time and it’s not worth it.”

Every opportunity not pursued is an opportunity missed. Someone needs this branded on their ars. Don’t worry, someone working their way up (or down) the ladder will see it

    They want immediate money.

They know they won't get credit for the million dollar donation 25 years from now.

For as much as we like to consider ourselves more advanced in long range planning than State, this is pretty short sighted.

This refusal to engage here is so obtuse. It must be deliberate.

Which is why I reduced my RCAF donation to the minimum needed to retain my seats. They don’t GAF about what I’ve given. Getting closer every year we’re about to have the same attitude.

    Well, let's see.

We're trying to refurbish a stadium that currently has NO amenities.
We're looking for a state of the art scoreboard (about 5.5 million) that is NOT a part of the renovation price.

You're damn right we're looking for immediate money.

AND, we're playing catch up from a bad hire and catching up to having a full staff because everyone left after the bad hire and those involved in the bad hire are gone.

I'm not disagreeing about building the numbers. We need to do that.

But if you disagree about the immediate priority (singular) then I suppose we will agree to disagree.

Corporate dollars. Big dollars. Big individual contributions HAS to be the #1 priority right now.

    Who was the bad hire?

Thanks, I should have, said need instead of want.

To this day, there has never been a “good hire” at RCAF. The only thing that’s ever been done right with RCAF is Nico, and y’all know I had my differences with how he did a few things. But he was appointed by Maggard, not hired by The Foundation.

. . . Nico is surely deserving of being praised here for all of the things he did for Louisiana during his tenure and before earning the AD job at Murray State . . . he was a true ambassador for this university and probably the best right hand man Dr M could have ever brought to Louisiana with him . . .
