Thread: RCAF Separation

  1. #1

    Default RCAF Separation

Kind of hard to buhleeve the RCAF is seeking full separation from the University. Was that ever a stated goal?

If I were to lead an organization in separating I would not have accepted a dual hatted position upon embarking on that mission.

Also when a govt employed position is disestablished the incumbent is usually accommodated elsewhere in the Org with a like position (i.e. pay)

So were Deputy Director of Athletics and RCAF Executive Director Trey Frazier accomplish full separation would he still remain a deputy director of athletics and someone else lead the separate rcaf?

Maybe separation is not anyone on here's goal or suggestion. I seem to recall some mentions of it but I don't memorize who posts what as some do.

Nor have I seen the pros and cons

Fans, who knew the history of the school, tried to demand separation from the outset.

Separation is important. As it now stands the UL Foundation has absolutely control of RCAF funds and can divert them for any purpose, even if the purpose has no bearing on athletics. I am not saying they have, only that they can.

That is reportedly the issue…a sustainable cash flow. And one way greater than the current ~2,000 fish (donors) in the pond. Need to keep the base pond happy and find other waters for new donors.

You can’t count on the same people year after year. They “time out”, be it retirement, apathy, or death.

We, as an educational institution, has to have grads who made it big time in industries outside the local O&G world.
