Seth was coaching the defense AND the pitchers.

And as a former HC himself, I’m sure he helps Coach Deggs with those head coach decisions as well. A lot was on his plate.

I’m pretty sure Gunner was a player coach while he played at UL. No official title but Robe likened him to that. Son of a lifetime coach. These people often make the best coaches.

Agreed. Dez was a player/captain in his playing days. Hence the sarcasm. I expect both former greats to be future Cajun greats as well.

. . . wishing Wells all of the best of luck in his future endeavors and thanking him for all he has done here . . . he was brought on by Robe because our hitting was anemic . . . once Deggs became HC, having Wells on staff would have been like Robe putting a pitching coach on staff . . . glad this move appears to have occurred organically and now it looks like we are more where we need to be coaching staff wise . . . let’s go . ..

Robe did have a pitching coach on his staff. Daniel Freeman he was volunteer assistant but was the pitching coach under Robe. He was my neighbor at the time this is how I know.

and . . . that is why he did not need another . . . Deggs had 2 hitting coaches on staff . . . that would have been like Robe having another pitching coach on his staff . . . that has been rectified with the replacement of a Wells with our new pitching coach . . .

A really good guy; he left because he got a coaching job somewhere, right?

I was wondering who would pop up and post this. I knew Freeman also, but that was a grad volunteer assistant . . . In fact I assisted with organizing a pitching clinic to assist him in making money . . .

Wells will be successful anywhere he goes. That dude can sell ice to an Eskimo. Hate to see him leave but supporting his family comes before baseball.
