I agree, but acting like the reason we underperformed is because of a lack of discipline is a bit much. Or the changes is fall camp is a stretch.
2 games with poor coaching decisions and horrendous OL play in the first 6 games. The OL play will get fixed because of All SBC talent returning from injury. Shoot I think King McGowen is the next Cajun OL to get drafted.
We had the 3rd worst graded OL in the country. Mainly because we constantly had to shift players around due to injury. Plus they were young.
That will all change this year. We will run the ball and wear defenses down and close out games we couldn’t last season.
I’ll admit if I’m wrong, but I bet the other screaming lack of discipline won’t.
. . . but always remember than none of that actually matters . . . the only thing that matters in the whole scheme of things is if the players sleep in dorms during camp . . . it has been shown that such is the key and the only key . . . don't ever forget about it, because if you do, someone here will remind you . . .
Those who only see the small picture sees it as sleeping arrangements. But the coaches who bring their kids under one roof see it as keeping 18-21yr olds away from outside distractions so they can eat, drink, sleep football while in camp. Distractions like going to bars, (which we know players did last camp) girlfriends bothering them at all ours of the night and showing up for a booty call, when it should be lights out, family and other outside influences that take there mind of off camp. Napier and his mentors all knew what they were doing when they implemented said camp policy and it wasn’t for sleeping arrangements. It was more to avoid the lack of sleep and making sure players get ample amounts of sleep during camp.
His year one looked a lot like Saban’s year one at both LSU and Alabama. In all 3 UL LSU and UA the products were broken and needed complete culture changes. According to Dr Maggards quote the reason he hired from within was because the product was no longer broken. It just needed to keep running as is with no bumps in the road.
Why don’t you just come out and say that you think players going out to bars during camp is a good thing. And that distractions of girl friends, family, friends and everything else going on is a good thing when they should be eating sleeping and drinking football 24/7. Thats what you are defending here just go ahead and say it..... That’s why it’s called camp and not practice like during a semester. Camp is designed to get you away from the distractions of the world.
. . . why don’t you just say it . . . each year one was a result of talent just like CMD’s year one and none of those had anything to do with the book’s of bull____ you post over and over again . . . including but not limited to the dorm thing . . . how about that . . .
Short memory? I give Des somewhat of a pass due to what he lost on the roster. He had more talent than ULM and Rice. They had south al and Troy beat. Prove to me that maybe a little more mental toughness, that you gain from doing all those little things he changed in the offseason process didn’t play a role in those loses.
. . . I don’t need to . . . I believe the results mainly revolved around things not associated with the dorm and discipline issues and more so with talent and coaching decisions . . . I am quite comfortable waiting to see what happens this year as opposed to showing up on message boards attacking my coach on BS issues . . . most of which has been put out there by those who were not happy about CMD getting the job . . . so I view it as a BS red herring . . .
