Law school is a three year curriculum. So I completed the 4 year accounting curriculum in three years. I passed the CPA exam while in law school. I started work at my law firm immediately out of Law School and started practicing law latter that year after passing the bar exam. I still grade bar exams . . .
And just for added note, I grew up on a 120 acre farm. We farmed rice, soy beens, cattle, doves and crawfish. So, while I never had a formal job, there was always plenty of work to do on the farm for which I was compensated. I was more like Digger Earles than Get Gordon . . .
As for my boys, while neither was in any social fraternities, both were in curriculum related organizations and attended most sporting events. Friends were always welcome at our home and most weekends we cooked for them and many of their college friends. I never once had to impose any rules of the house. My youngest played college baseball for 3 years which is in essence a full time job. After his third summer with the CaneCutters (who play virtually every day) he decided not to play college baseball his senior year. He took a job as a caretaker for a paraplegic his senior year, which included, amoung many things like driving her around, cooking and handling her daily physical therapy requirements. He was also elected Home Coming King by the student body and was elected Student Counsel President by the faculty his senior year.
I would say that both of them had a very well rounded college experience . . . excelled in school which is why they were there and finished their respective degree programs on time . . . My youngest will be starting PT school in August.
